Its parent company was Rapido Ventures, however ABC Transport shortly became an independent company and by March 2003, Capital Alliance Private Equity acquired 30% shares of the company and also became a stakeholder within the transport firm.

In 1973, the company transferred its headquarters from Onitsha to Lagos with mainly two buses, but just seven years later the company purchased about 40 buses; and by 1980 it had over 150 luxurious buses plying all routes in Nigeria.




It became a limited liability company in 1984, and presently has over 500 vehicles plying Ibadan, Abuja, Kano, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Jos, Yola, Onitsha, Neni, Enugu, Owerri, Aba, Umuahia, Port Harcourt, Uyo and Calabar among hundreds of other destinations.
